A grand room, a good meeting—and I stayed awake
The Mark Provincial AGM at Portsmouth Guildhall delivered plenty of spectacle, familiar faces and a very respectable afternoon out.

Portsmouth Guildhall is not a building that does understated. It makes even finding your seat feel like the opening of something important.
The Provincial meeting brought together friends from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. There was ceremony, conversation and the usual attempt to work out exactly how many people one can greet before forgetting where one was heading.
A thoroughly enjoyable occasion. The meeting was very good, the company even better—and, despite rumours to the contrary, I stayed awake.
